Project Description: Commercial Equipment

Design Team: Cesaroni Design & Cummins-Allison Corporation

The Cesaroni Design firm worked with Cummins-Allison to help them realize the JetScan MPX 8200. The JetScan MPX 8200 is a multi-pocket cash sorter. It operates at 1,200 notes per minute and is equipped with a continuous feeder with a 4000 note capacity. Improved scanning technology reads bills better, and also provides the highest available level of counterfeit detection. Unique corner modules and better system configurations increase productivity by letting the operator quickly go between loading the feeder and unloading strapper bins in significantly less time. This also allows the MPX 8200 adapt to smaller spaces, something linear-only systems can’t do.

The form of the MPX 8200 compliments its technical features by creating an approachable, elegant and user-centric industrial design. All components in the MPX 8200 modular system are all stylistically cohesive, giving each configuration a custom-made appearance. To minimize the tooling costs for the outer enclosure, the covers are fabricated in steel and then powder coated. This strategy allowed Cummins-Allison to give the MPX 8200 a very durable, aesthetically pleasing appearance. The operator station with its adjustable screen allows any user to comfortably sit or stand while they work. Clearly indicated handles also let operators know where service hatches and currency cassettes are, facilitating removal of jams and currency stacks.
