Project Description: Medical & Laboratory

Design Team: Cesaroni Design & LECO Corporation

The Cesaroni Design company collaborated with LECO’s scientists and engineers to create an instrument that is aesthetically pleasing as well as providing fast, accurate and reliable results. Both companies designed LECO's thermogravimetric moisture determinator, the TGM800, to provide a high precision, automated solution for loss-on-drying analytical techniques. The TGM800 utilizes a direct method for replacing the slow, labor intensive traditional analytical techniques. It offers a number of time-saving features such as the ability to automatically measure up to 16 samples at a time with optional drying time end-point recognition and intuitive touch-screen software with flexible method settings.

The TGM800’s enclosure includes injection molded plastic and fabricated steel. Ergonomic evaluation and development of the graphic user interface were a critical part of the industrial design process.
