Gendex Dental Systems (KaVo)
Expert DC Intraoral X-RaySystem
Cesaroni Design worked with Gendex Dental Systems' internal product development team on this dental product design. Our product design firm handled the industrial design and Gendex's engineering team provided the new product components and specifications.
Concept development focused on overall form and feature enhancements. The design increases the space between the device and patient. This allows the product to be positioned farther away from the patient's face.
The industrial design of the interface locates the controls in front of the main enclosure. The operator can choose to access the control presets placed on the side of the imaging device. These user related improvements increase workflow.
This new dental product design earned an EID Gold from Appliance Design Magazine and a Good Design award from The Chicago Athenaeum.

Life Fitness
X7 Elliptical Cross-Trainer
Cesaroni Design and Life Fitness developed this new consumer fitness product. The established design language and two-part console design of the T-Series Treadmill is integrated into this new consumer fitness machine.
The Cesaroni Design new consumer fitness product design firm began the ideation process with concept sketches and realistic 3d renderings. We proposed appropriate aesthetics for the new consumer fitness product. Working as a team with Life Fitness, we selected a design direction. We then detailed the selected design in SolidWorks to move quickly toward styling model development. While Cesaroni Design focused on the final fitness product design, engineering issues were handled by our client.
The new consumer fitness product is developed with organic shaped steel tubing. A satin silver color base is complemented by dark grey and blue accents. This new product gives consumers a more natural ellipse motion. The design team incorporated the two-part console that simplifies user activity. The lower console places the most used keys closer to the user.
This new consumer fitness product design received an EID Gold from Appliance Design Magazine.

Wolf Appliance, Inc.
E Series Built-In Wall Ovens, Unframed Door Style
Cesaroni Design worked concurrently with the marketing and engineering teams at Wolf Appliance to develop new wall ovens as single and double configurations. Industrial design efforts by Cesaroni Design entailed aesthetic, ergonomic and user interface improvements.
Ideation began with 3D renderings illustrating different door styles, handle options and control panels. Once a design direction for the new product was selected, the project team refined the new design in 3D SolidWorks.
The project team created both Unframed and Framed Door Styles. The handle and control panel lengths are unique to the door style, maximizing the design composition.
Ergonomic improvements include balanced door hinges to ensure a smooth opening and closing. Usable oven capacity is increased for extra-large baking pans. A fully extendable bottom rack nestles on the door rails to safely remove food.
An enhanced user interface design features a touch control panel and LCD display. Electronic responses and directions on the control panel make operation simple.
Wolf Appliance has been ranked #1 by J.D. Power and Associates in the Range/Cooktop/Oven category of their 2010 Home Appliance Study. This satisfaction study is based on ease of use; performance and reliability; styling and feel; features; and warranty.
This appliance design also earned an EID Silver from appliance DESIGN Magazine and a Good Design Award.
